Ryan Sturz - Action Director / Coordinator

Ryan was born into a multi-ethnic family with German, Indian, Chinese and Native American roots. He attended film school at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, and at the same time, he started his career as a motorcycle racer, winning several national championships and setting several class lap records in the process. Later on, he started coaching motorcycle racers at the California Superbike School and stunt driving at the Hollywood Motion Picture Driving Clinic, while also starting his career as a stunt performer.

Producers particularly like his “German engineer” approach to planning and executing action sequences, while directors appreciate how well-versed he is in the language of cinema, camera angles and editing.

Ryan has stunt coordinated four seasons of the hit teen series “East Los High” and is currently coordinating and second-unit directing the teen action thriller “The Thinning – New World Order.” When he’s not crashing things at work, Ryan enjoys a quiet country life just outside of Los Angeles with his daughters, a dog and two horses.
